the people back home, but there’s one thing I can’t run from—the guilt and pain that follows me relentlessly. All I can do is dull it with alcohol and casual sex. But then my new boss, Mr Dark and Delicious, deserted me, mid kiss, with my skirt hiked up and my shirt discarded on the alley floor. I should hate him―him and the secrets he’s keeping. But I can’t stay away. Because the pain and guilt he’s hiding mirror my own.
With chemistry off the scale, we couldn’t even make it home, both of us too impatient, ripping each other’s clothes off in the alleyway outside the bar. Then my phone buzzed, and one text message stopped everything. I couldn’t think. Couldn’t breathe. All I could do was run. I’m toxic, but I can’t tell her why. I can’t bear the look of horror I know would cross her face. But I
also don’t know how to keep something so life altering from the woman I’m falling for. Not when I need her just to survive it.

mistakes. For all of his pent up anger and frustrations.
So there are a couple different reasons I went to 5 stars instead of 4. First I want to say this is the first Elizabeth book I have read so I had nothing to go by before reading Scarred. And at some points I was almost ready to stop reading, then some I was crying, and at the end, I knew I had to give this book 5 stars. Not only due to the story but because of the emotional elements also.
At first, I want to say I was not too into Roxy. I mean yes I understand where she is coming from and where she is at. There is no one to help her, and nowhere where she can really go. When the MC club is so big that everywhere you would turn there would be someone to turn you back to the abusive man you just ran from.
Then you have Tex, the man that has supposedly been in love with Roxy for years. He has been watching her get beat the crap out of for years and has done nothing because Rage is his best friend. That bothered me. So when he finally has the guts to leave with her it doesn’t take long for these two to come out with their emotions and fears. We are eventually taken to Montana where Roxy has brothers in an up and up MC club. This is where we meet some wonderful new characters and Roxy comes out of her shell. She and Tex become part of a new MC club and now have to learn their own relationship.A lot of things happen in this book.
Again it is a lot of roller coasters and emotional upheaval but I really did enjoy it. That is what makes a good story in my thoughts. I am breathless to see what happens in the next book. I am sure it will be a hate/love relationship kind of like this one.

This is my first Vanessa Vale so I have nothing to go by when it comes to her other stories. But I have to say I did enjoy this story. It has a nice build to it. There is a mystery to it. And a hot fireman too. I love the family and Jane works at a wonderful store. HAHA, that caught me at first.
Jane is not someone that has had a lot of men in her life, period. She is a mother of two wonderful little boys and is doing the single mother thing. She has a great support system and enjoys her life. But when Ty shows up at the store she works at to do a fire safety lookup. The sparks fly. But Ty is not looking for anything and Jane is not someone you just have sex with. She is a complication.
But when someone starts coming around her house, and then things are blown up and a murder happens all around Jane, Ty has no chose but to hang around.
I have enjoyed this story and am excited to see where the rest go.
Jane West’s life is perfectly average.
Until Ty Strickland—Grade-A, smoking hot firefighter—moves in down the street. Then things get a little exciting, and not in the good, panty-melting sort of way. Not only does someone want her dead (seriously), she has to wrangle her out-of-control desires where the new neighbor is concerned, and convince her boss at the small town’s only adult toy store—who meddles in Jane’s love life—to leave the new hose-wielding hottie off her matchmaking radar.
But it’s not all chaos and pancakes. There’s Ty. And his smoking hot body. Smoking hot kisses. He’s burning the walls around her heart to nothing but ash. And she just might be falling in love…if she can stay alive long enough.
This is the first book in Vanessa Vale’s new Small Town Romance series, where the men in Montana aren’t just hot, they set things on fire.

I LOVED this story. I am not big into second chance stories, but this one really isn’t one. Yes, Veronica and Jack have a past but not in a real romantic way. They were high school friends that both wanted more but never had it because of reasons beyond their control.
But when forces bring them together again 10 years later they have to face what happened back then and a little mystery that is surrounding Veronica. Will Jack be able to help her or make it worse? Will Veronica and Jack be able to get over their past and make a future together? Or will they forever be enemies?
Jack Reid is the boy she crushed on in high school. Ten years ago, he broke her heart and skipped town. But now he’s back, and he’s definitely no longer a boy. He’s all man—and he’d really like for Veronica to check out his pipe.
Even though Veronica’s heart hasn’t yet forgiven Jack, they’ll need more than a pillow berm down the middle of the bed to keep them apart.
This is a Small Town Romance 11k novella! Short and not so sweet!

Emma Hardy has wondered why Sam Carter rocked her world (and her libido) with an incredible kiss then calmly walked away, quit his job, and disappeared for two months. Not exactly the hot kiss follow-up she’d been hoping for.
But Sam was busy making plans.
Plans that include the two of them and picking up where they left off.
This time, nothing will stop them.

This is a sweet and sassy story. It is short but the author is very upfront with it. You get a cute little Christmas story in the middle of summer with a white elephant party in it.
Enjoyed Sam and Emma’s story. 🙂
He needs a roommate, she needs a place to live.
She needs a place to hide …
When charming firefighter Hunter meets a beautiful woman at the DMV, he wastes no time making her acquaintance. When she mentions she’s new in town and looking for a fresh start, he does not hesitate in offering to rent the extra bedroom in his house. After all, he’s never been able to resist a damsel-in-distress and helping those in need is what he does best.
What begins as an innocent, well intentioned arrangement, blossoms into a passionate entanglement neither one of them saw coming.
It all feels right. His tight-knit group of friends think the world of her. And he can’t imagine going the rest of his life without Edie by his side.
But when her past comes to call and their love is on the line, Hunter’s save-the-world complex faces the ultimate test. Is love enough to save them both?
**Hot and Dangerous Book One in The Fraternity Brothers Series, is the first of seven stories. The series is about a group of fraternity brothers who continue to be best friends long after graduation, and the women they fall in love with. Each book is a full length stand-alone romance with a happily ever after and no cliffhanger**
I have to say this book surprised me. I was a little apprehensive about this book, but I wanted to give it a try and I am so happy I did.
I loved this group of friends and Hunter. He is looking for a roommate since he has been cut off from his family because he is following his dreams. He is destined to become a firefighter and will do anything to do it. So when he meets Edie at the DMV he finds himself offering his home to her as a roommate.
Edie is hiding, and when she finds herself talking to Hunter she takes his offer and help. She is not looking for anything romantic, in fact, she wants NOTHING to do with romance. She wants a new life and maybe some friends.
Hunter finds he really enjoys Edie and her company. His friends like and respect her and it shows. But when her past comes back to hunt her will everyone stick by her? Or will they turn their back on her?
I went down to a 4 star due to how quick the ending ended. It was like bam. However, I did enjoy the story and will read the others.
“Hunter, you’re fired.”
I look up from my bunk that I’ve just made with military precision after my last twenty-four-hour shift for the week. “Uh, sir?”
Chief Sullivan stands tall and irritated on the threshold of the room with his hands behind his back. “You have failed to show proof of a Class A license, so I have to fire you. I’ve been telling you for weeks to get this done by today. Time’s up.”
Shit. I was planning on taking care of that three days ago, but I was busy hiding the fact that I’m going to the academy to become a full-time firefighter from my family. “I was going to take care of that today, sir.”
His brows shoot up, and his expression is doubtful. “You have until five o’clock tonight. Have fun at the DMV on a Saturday, son. I don’t envy you.”
I don’t envy me either. “Thank you, sir. I’ll make sure you have it before five.”
“You do that, or you really will be fired.”
I’m a volunteer firefighter. Technically, he can’t fire me, but hopefully, that will soon change—being a full-time firefighter, not being fired.
He turns to leave and pauses on his way out. “Everything all right with your family?” he asks.
No, everything is not all right with my family. They’re pissed they spent thousands of dollars sending me to Westview University for four years only to watch me throw it all away to play hero, as they say. Chief knows my family is less than thrilled about my career choice, and he’s always been supportive.
“They still feel the same way. Nothing’s going to make them budge, though. I’m not going to worry about it.”
He grunts in agreement and leaves me alone. There’s not much else to say.
I hadn’t planned on spending the day at the DMV. I was going to take a run on the beach, work out, and place an ad for a roommate. Dad refuses to help with the rent now that I’m not going on to law school as planned.
As he planned, not me. I never wanted to go to college in the first place. I’ve wanted to be a firefighter since I was ten years old when I rescued a kitten from a burning garage five houses down from ours on Grand Avenue.
I saw smoke coming from the Grady’s garage and heard Cleo’s meows. Like an idiot, I went inside and crawled around on my hands and knees to find her. Mrs. Grady was a nice lady, and I knew how much she loved that cat. I couldn’t let it die.
When I emerged from the garage, Cleo under my arm coughing and sputtering, gasping for air, I knew this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Even after spending the night in the hospital for smoke inhalation, I wouldn’t shut up about being a firefighter.
My dad finally put his foot down a year later and told me under no circumstances was a Forrest man going to work a blue-collar job. I didn’t know what that meant other than I wasn’t allowed to talk about being a fireman anymore. Dad said I was going to be a lawyer like the rest of the family. Being a lawyer looked boring dressing in a suit, carrying a briefcase, working behind a desk on the computer, and spending time in stuffy old courthouses. No, that isn’t what I wanted to do—never was, never will be.
I step outside into the sunlight and shield my eyes. Another perfect day in California. Too bad I have to spend it inside waiting for a special license that says I can keep driving the huge rigs I’ve been driving for almost four years already. What a waste of time.
I spend my weekdays writing full time and raising my family.
I write about intelligent women and the stubborn men who love them.
I write about turmoil and conflict. I write about the most complex, convoluted emotion we as humans experience.
I write about love.

You have to be a good girl, Sugar. You can’t just lose your temper. You have to mind me, understand? I’m always watching. I’ll always be here to correct you.” Her litany of “no’s” and “stops” have been replaced by soft, pained sobs as I direct harder spanks on the crest of her buttocks. I pull her against me as I continue to lecture her.
“The results will always be the same when you disobey, Sugar. I’ll always spank you.” I punctuate this with two smacks, one to the center of each cheek. She is kicking her legs; between them I can see the outer lips of her pussy have parted to reveal the inner folds of flesh. My little one is very, very wet. “Are you going to be a my good little girl?” I level two more hard smacks to the already red lower portion of her bottom.
“Yes!” She wails the word and I drop my hand.
“Do you promise?” My palm is resting across the seam of her hot little bottom. “You promise to control your temper?” I squeeze a punished cheek and she whimpers in pain.
“Yes what?” Remember your lesson.
“Good girl.” “And you’ll be honest with your daddy?” Her whole body tenses. Mine does, too. I hold my breath. It’s the first time I’ve referred to myself as a daddy. But that’s what I want to be for her, the daddy figure she never had. I want to be the one Sugar depends on. For everything.
I can’t stop my cock from pressing against her. She has to feel it. There’s no way she can’t. But she’s not moving now. She’s not struggling. “Do you promise to always tell your daddy the truth?” I move my hand lower. My fingers are just grazing the soft swell of her pussy. “Promise me, Sugar.” She emits a strangled sob and nods. I move my hand lower.
“Did the spanking hurt?”
She nods again.
“And this?” I slide one finger across the arousal-slickened folds of her inner flesh. Does this hurt?”
She shudders. “No, sir.”
Oh, god. Her answer has made my cock even harder. But a daddy dom must be patient. He must guide his little one, especially when she’s been so damaged. “How does this feel?” I move my finger to her clit. Her soft thighs clamp down on my hand, resisting, but then soften as she arches towards me. Her hands are clutching my lower leg. She’s moaning. It’s the most beautiful sound in the world. If I’m pushing her limits with my dominance, she’s pushing mine with her sweet submission. If only my sweet little Sugar knew how much control she has over me this moment. I’d give her the world if she asked for it.
“I’m going to touch you deeper, Sugar. Will you trust me?”

I never had a daddy. That’s about to change.
It was desperation that drove me to break the law. When I wake up after sentencing to learn I’ve been forced into an experimental reform program, the last thing I expect is to be regressed back to a time in my life when I was fully dependent and vulnerable.
Dr. Eli Crane is commanding, strict, and uncompromising. While I’m here, he’ll be the daddy I never had. He’ll decide what I wear, when and what I eat. He’ll spank me to tears when I’m bad. I will be his little one, to use and touch as he pleases.
As my handsome guardian breaks down my defenses, I find myself craving not just the vulnerability and even humiliation of his treatment, but trusting a man who seems to know more about me than I know about myself.
But how does he know so much? When the secret of his knowledge is revealed, will it destroy the happiness of finally having the daddy figure I’ve always wanted.

The Daddy Treatment is the second story of age play I have read of hers and I have to say that I do enjoy them. They take me out of my comfort zone and let me read something I do not usually read. Ava doesn’t overplay it too much and lets you enjoy what it would be like between a DD/Lg.
This one is between Sugar and Eli is pretty good. Sugar fights Eli with everything she has. But while Eli walks her through her childhood with the nickname and stuffed animals she starts softening up to him. It is an interesting thing to watch.
Variety is the spice of life and Ava Sinclair writes a little something for everyone, from dark romance to menage to kinky AF age play. But the one thing that is consistent in her books are strong storylines, alpha males, and strong women whose hearts and bodies aren’t given up without a fight.
Ava lives in southern Virginia, where she enjoys hoarding books, hiking, running, spoiling her cats, and spending time with her Eurasian eagle owl, Lucius.

So I am a little on the 4 and 5-star fence here. I enjoyed the story and I enjoyed the characters BUT I feel like everything was rushed. I feel like there could have been so much more to this story if there was more to it. So that is why I am having a problem with this story.
Tara and Colton don’t have the best of meetings at the beginning. Tara is trapped by one of Colton’s traps and is caught by Colton. So when he takes her to his home- by force, things don’t go well. But when Colton finds out who she is working for things go downhill even faster.
Tara just wants to do her job and get off Colton’s land. She had no idea that he would have traps on his property. She also didn’t know he would pull on a gun on her. But when he finds out what she is doing on his property he doesn’t take to kindly of her being there.
The chemistry is wonderful between these two. The story is a mystery that keeps you guessing. And I enjoy Colton’s mysterious family members. But again everything ended very quickly and that kind of sucked for me.
to ride all night.
got more than just a big rig for her to ride…
more than we ever thought two roughnecks like us would ever find. And once we’ve got the teasing little sorority girl on our rig, she’s gonna be in it for the longhaul.
In this second book of the Sugar County Boys series, we meet Tucker and Walker. And man do we fall in love with them. These guys are long haulers for the bad guy Lawson in Sugar County. They do have morals though and won’t do the horrible hauls like women and hardcore drugs. But guns and weed they are all for. Go figure. So when they stop to get some food and see a woman that is about to get hurt by other men they step in. Little did they know they are asking for trouble by another rival crew.
Poor Sierra is in a crappy way. She really needs new friends. So when she is stranded with no one to help her, she doesn’t expect two really hot truckers to show up and beat the crap out of some men trying to hurt her.
When these three get together it is a wonderful story. I enjoyed this one very much and we get some great action in the end also. I am excited to see where the next one takes us
the dirty alter ego of the very wholesome, very normal suburban housewife behind the stories. While she might be a wife, mom, and PTA organizer on the outside, there’s nothing but hot, steamy, and raunchy fantasies brewing right beneath the surface!
Tired of keeping them hidden inside or only having them come out in the bedroom, they’re all here in the form of some wickedly hot stories. Single-minded alpha hero, sinfully taboo relationships, and wildly over-the-top scenarios. If you love it extra dirty, extra hot, and extra naughty, this is the place for you! (Just don’t tell the other PTA members you saw her here…)
