Except one man.

He’s a mystery to me. He’s controlling, demanding, and he has me wrapped around his little finger. Anything he wants, I’ll give it to him. The hours we share together aren’t about love. It’s just sex. Hot, dirty, passionate sex. It was never supposed to be anything more than that.

Until everything changed.

Now, I’m more confused than ever. The more I learn about him, the less I seem to understand. What I do know is that I’m falling, and I have the feeling when I land, it’s going to hurt.

What I’ve learned since that fateful night in his apartment has me reeling. Now, though, the truth has taken a backstage to other, more pressing matters.

While I struggle to make a choice that will determine the direction of my future, lies that I thought had been carefully hidden away are coming to light. My head is such a mess I don’t know what’s up or down anymore. Will I be able to sort it all out, or will the life I’ve worked so hard to build come crashing down in a pile of secrets and lies?

 ~~My Review for Whisky & You~~

Be warned there is nothing sweet about this book. This book will tear you apart and spit you out. I came into this story thinking one thing. And then from the very first sentence, I could NOT stop reading. I read this book in one sitting.

JJ is nothing of what you think when you start the first chapter. I was so up in the air after the first couple chapters. I wanted to not like him and was for sure going to hate him. But once the story started to develop I LOVED him. What a tragic alpha man. He is so misunderstood and he deserved everything that comes to him.

Navy, holy crap. That girl is a warrior in every sense. No matter what Jordan has done to her, she comes up fighting. Even if it is being quiet and looking small, she is still fighting. I have no idea how she does it. But JJ is there to save her.

These two have a romance that is wonderful to read. And the other characters are just as wonderful. The ending is great and I can’t wait to read Kemps story! I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

Whisper in the Dark by Leteisha Newton📖Review📖

I was captured…That’s just the beginning of my tale. I’ve survived Purgatory, abuse, and near death. In that abandoned farmhouse I nearly lost everything, but Jacob saved me. We were trapped in this hell together, giving each other the strength to hold on. I fell into darkness with my captor’s son.Until I left him behind. She was perfect, my Alana. Brilliant and full of pain. She understood my darkness and fueled the fire. When she left, I waited patiently to find her, and in her honor, I killed men who took away from innocents. Then I found her…She’s deadly now, a killer too, and perfectly mine. It was beautiful to behold, but she belongs in a cage. My cage. She’ll love me again, or I’ll expose her dirty secrets for the world to see while going down in flames with her. In darkness, it’s most definitely till death do us part.

Warning: This book is full of triggers. It’s wicked dark, with created evil falling in love. People die. They are hurt horribly. The bad guys get away, and there is no apology for it. Hardcore trigger within these pages.

Leaving me to my misery, Master and the doctor left the room to speak in harsh whispers in the hallway. Curling myself into a ball, I kept crying harder and harder until I was gasping for breath. Master threw a glare my way before leading the doctor far away from my room.
The pain, the loss, shot through me like I was taking a bullet to the heart. How could I have done this? How could I put my precious little one through something this awful? I was as bad as Master. I was a monster like him. Crying harder at my thoughts, my eyes caught on the doorway in time to see someone peeking in. My body relaxed in one great whoosh. Jacob was here. He slipped into the room and crept into the bed with me. Ignoring the blood and filth on the towels, for the first time, Jacob took me into his arms. I curled into his chest, inhaling his clean, crisp scent through the tears.
“I’m sorry, Alana. I couldn’t get here sooner, and I can’t stay here long. He’ll come back soon.”
It didn’t matter. He was here now, and I clung to him, curling my fingers into his shirt and holding on desperately. In his arms, the pain dulled, and I could handle it. I could cry into his chest and be held. I could be fragile, and he’d catch the broken pieces. His lips trailed up the side of my neck, soft kisses that pushed away the agony and warmed me.
“You can do it. You’re strong enough. Hold on a little longer,” he whispered into my skin. I believed it because he did too.
So I lifted my face so his lips could touch mine.
Soft and warm, his mouth was different. He slipped over the scars of my abuse and filled in the cervices left behind. Maybe it was the medicine making me fanciful, but I thought I could ask for this. That maybe I would ask him to take me. That I’d like to have him. But then, he was pulling away.
“I have to go. I’ll be with you later. Look for me.”
And as fast as he’d come, he was gone, but the pain was behind a wall, one he’d built high. He gave me strength, and I would use it to survive. I’d done the right thing, as horrible as it was, and I knew he didn’t judge me for it. We’d done this together, and it made the load easier to bear. Master stomped his way back into the room, face scarlet and chest heaving like a locomotive. I wanted to cringe at his bald fists, but I couldn’t move. I was too tired, or too resigned maybe, to care.

~~ My Review for Whisper in the Dark~~

This is one of the most screwed up books I have read in a long time. But oh man did I love it. I guess it takes a special person to love these kinds of books.

Alana Masters is kidnapped at 18 years old. She is then held for almost 2 years. She is rapped, beaten, whipped, and tormented in ways you can’t imagine. Her only solace is the boy that is her age, Jacob. He is Masters son.

Master doesn’t treat Jacob any better than the toys (the women he kidnapped). But now that Alana is there, Jacob has someone to fight for.
When Jacob and Alana find a way out, Alana runs and never goes back for Jacob, but she doesn’t give away his involvement.

Years later Alana has turned into Nila Winters and is a therapist for the worse offenders of sexual misconduct towards young children. But what she does in her spare time is what gets her going. And when Jacob finally finds her, well that just makes this couple even hotter.

I loved this book and will make it my mission to read more from her. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

Writing professionally since 2008, LeTeisha Newton’s love of romance novels began long before it should have. After spending years sneaking reads from her grandmother’s stash, she finally decided to pen her own tales. As many will do during their youth, she bounced from fantasy, urban literature, mainstream, interracial, paranormal, heterosexual, and LGBT works until she finally rested in contemporary romance.
LeTeisha is all about deep angst and angry heroes who take a bit more loving to smooth their rough edges. Love comes in many sizes, shapes, and colors, as well as with—or without—absolute beauty and fairy tale sweetness. She writes the darker tales because life is hard … but love is harder.

Cry for You by Shaniel Watson 📖Review📖

Cry For You

by Shaniel Watson

Publication Date: March 13, 2018

Genres: Adult, Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

You know how the story goes. Don’t you?

Boy meets girl. Eyes lock, they fall in love, live happily ever after.

Not this story.

Lacey baby, was what he called me. He said I was too young for him but who cares, we were both young. He stopped resisting and we fell in love.

I thought we were going to be forever. We were. Until the unthinkable happened savagely ripping through us, ripping us apart, and forever turned in to never.

He was gone. I was left to pick up the shredded pieces. Punished for the life inside me I couldn’t give up. The very thing I didn’t know would bring me out of darkness years later, could be the very thing that brings us together again for a second chance.

If we can only survive the ripple effects of the pain of the past and what lies ahead…

💕💕 My Review for Cry For You 💕💕

Holy crap. This is my first Shaniel Watson book, but she is now one of my favs!

I don’t think I have cried during a story this much since Pet by Isabella Starling. This book is so emotional. But Shaniel did a great job with the issues that she decided to deal with. The back and forth from then and now was beautifully done. I loved this story!
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

No man ever made her scream and beg for release. A release that remained unattainable for her.

She claims I’m asking for the impossible. I will prove her wrong.

Because I know it’s not her body that needs to be conquered – it’s her mind.

But our relationship rests on unsound footing, a contract and nothing more.

And when my actions turn reckless, the vulnerable agreement may be our undoing…

🖤🖤 My Review for Black Velvet 🖤🖤

There isn’t anything that Linnea May can’t write. This is a spin-off of her Violent Series. Welcome to Velvet Rooms where all your dreams come true.

Elene works for Violent Delights and is tired of it. She just can’t get into it anymore. So she goes to her boss and tells her she is done, she wants out. But that is when Elene finds out that there will be a new business opening up and Elene will have the option to be an Angel or a Devil. You can figure that one out. 🙂

Damon is a VIP to Violent Delights but has yet to find the one woman that he wants to keep for a while. But when he goes to the meeting with madam at Violet he walks into Elene. It isn’t for 6 months at the opening of Velvet Rooms that he finally sees her again.

This is a wonderful story of almost cat and mouse. Damon knows he will lose interest in Elene as soon as he has sex with her. Elene is used to giving the man anything and everything they want. Too bad Damon wants the real her, and she doesn’t know what that is. I loved this romance! I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

Watch and See by Jeffy Kate 📖Review📖

Title: Watch and See
Author: Jiffy Kate
Genre: Contemporary Romance w/ Erotic Elements
Release Date: March 9, 2018
Life hasn’t been kind to Harper Evans.

The small-town gossip about her dead dad and drug-addicted mother has taken its toll. But when her mother is admitted to a long-term rehab facility a few hours away, Harper sees her chance for a fresh start.

A shoebox apartment above a Chinese restaurant isn’t exactly the escape she dreamed of, but she makes it work. With limited funds and no social life, she views her new city through a dusty old pair of binoculars.

There’s no harm in looking.

Just a peek and I’ll stop.

Harper finds her new pastime quickly turning into a full-fledged obsession. She begins falling for a man she doesn’t know—has never met—as she watches him have sex through the window of his apartment. Daydreaming about what it would be like if she were one of his conquests.

We all reach a point when watching isn’t enough—when we can no longer just be a spectator in our own life. That’s when it’s supposed to get good, right? When we take control and go after what we want. But what happens when it all blows up in our face and we’re left with less than nothing?

What then?

This is my first book by Jeffy Kate and I was so surprised by it that I want to dive right into another one! I thought with the name Watch and See I would be reading a story about voyeurism and some dirty sex, but instead what I got was an emotional story.

Harper is a young woman trying to live on her own and deal with her drug addict mother that is now in a 6-month program. Harper has such a big heart that even though her mother treats her like crap she still goes every Saturday and visits. But Harper does have one little secret. She watches a man across the way have sex in his living room. He has no idea that Harper is looking on, and he doesn’t care that anyone is looking on.

Luke has his own issues, this is why he has sex with women in his living room. He never takes them to his bedroom and never closes the blinds. He doesn’t care if people can see, not that he pays any attention. But when Harper walks in for a family counseling session with her mother he finds he wants to get to know her. He has no idea that she already knows him.

These two have a friendly relationship until he finds out. I loved how each character takes a step back then comes together again.
I loved all of these characters and Mr. Chan is wonderful! I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.
