I was captured…That’s just the beginning of my tale. I’ve survived Purgatory, abuse, and near death. In that abandoned farmhouse I nearly lost everything, but Jacob saved me. We were trapped in this hell together, giving each other the strength to hold on. I fell into darkness with my captor’s son.Until I left him behind. She was perfect, my Alana. Brilliant and full of pain. She understood my darkness and fueled the fire. When she left, I waited patiently to find her, and in her honor, I killed men who took away from innocents. Then I found her…She’s deadly now, a killer too, and perfectly mine. It was beautiful to behold, but she belongs in a cage. My cage. She’ll love me again, or I’ll expose her dirty secrets for the world to see while going down in flames with her. In darkness, it’s most definitely till death do us part.
Warning: This book is full of triggers. It’s wicked dark, with created evil falling in love. People die. They are hurt horribly. The bad guys get away, and there is no apology for it. Hardcore trigger within these pages.
The pain, the loss, shot through me like I was taking a bullet to the heart. How could I have done this? How could I put my precious little one through something this awful? I was as bad as Master. I was a monster like him. Crying harder at my thoughts, my eyes caught on the doorway in time to see someone peeking in. My body relaxed in one great whoosh. Jacob was here. He slipped into the room and crept into the bed with me. Ignoring the blood and filth on the towels, for the first time, Jacob took me into his arms. I curled into his chest, inhaling his clean, crisp scent through the tears.
“I’m sorry, Alana. I couldn’t get here sooner, and I can’t stay here long. He’ll come back soon.”
It didn’t matter. He was here now, and I clung to him, curling my fingers into his shirt and holding on desperately. In his arms, the pain dulled, and I could handle it. I could cry into his chest and be held. I could be fragile, and he’d catch the broken pieces. His lips trailed up the side of my neck, soft kisses that pushed away the agony and warmed me.
“You can do it. You’re strong enough. Hold on a little longer,” he whispered into my skin. I believed it because he did too.
So I lifted my face so his lips could touch mine.
Soft and warm, his mouth was different. He slipped over the scars of my abuse and filled in the cervices left behind. Maybe it was the medicine making me fanciful, but I thought I could ask for this. That maybe I would ask him to take me. That I’d like to have him. But then, he was pulling away.
“I have to go. I’ll be with you later. Look for me.”
And as fast as he’d come, he was gone, but the pain was behind a wall, one he’d built high. He gave me strength, and I would use it to survive. I’d done the right thing, as horrible as it was, and I knew he didn’t judge me for it. We’d done this together, and it made the load easier to bear. Master stomped his way back into the room, face scarlet and chest heaving like a locomotive. I wanted to cringe at his bald fists, but I couldn’t move. I was too tired, or too resigned maybe, to care.
~~ My Review for Whisper in the Dark~~
This is one of the most screwed up books I have read in a long time. But oh man did I love it. I guess it takes a special person to love these kinds of books.
Alana Masters is kidnapped at 18 years old. She is then held for almost 2 years. She is rapped, beaten, whipped, and tormented in ways you can’t imagine. Her only solace is the boy that is her age, Jacob. He is Masters son.
Master doesn’t treat Jacob any better than the toys (the women he kidnapped). But now that Alana is there, Jacob has someone to fight for.
When Jacob and Alana find a way out, Alana runs and never goes back for Jacob, but she doesn’t give away his involvement.
Years later Alana has turned into Nila Winters and is a therapist for the worse offenders of sexual misconduct towards young children. But what she does in her spare time is what gets her going. And when Jacob finally finds her, well that just makes this couple even hotter.
I loved this book and will make it my mission to read more from her. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.
Writing professionally since 2008, LeTeisha Newton’s love of romance novels began long before it should have. After spending years sneaking reads from her grandmother’s stash, she finally decided to pen her own tales. As many will do during their youth, she bounced from fantasy, urban literature, mainstream, interracial, paranormal, heterosexual, and LGBT works until she finally rested in contemporary romance.
LeTeisha is all about deep angst and angry heroes who take a bit more loving to smooth their rough edges. Love comes in many sizes, shapes, and colors, as well as with—or without—absolute beauty and fairy tale sweetness. She writes the darker tales because life is hard … but love is harder.

~My Review of Stakeout~
This review is my first for Karen Raines and I have to say I really enjoyed this story. The characters, ALL of them are wonderful. I laughed, rolled my eyes, and worried about them. The story is strong and the romance is hot.
Colby can be a dick at times, but that is what makes him so awesome. Colby and Bri have been friends for years. So when they have one night of passion and Colby yells out her cousin’s name, Bri doesn’t take it too well. As she shouldn’t. But there is a reason for everything, even this.
Bri and her friends are PI’s, which is awesome, and they have a deep stake in a new client. But Bri might have taken a bite out of something she can’t handle. So Colby comes to her rescue, or so he thinks.
Again this group of characters is great, and the story is awesome. Really enjoyed. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.
A self-confessed reading addict, Karen is usually found
either writing or with her nose stuck in a book. Or Adulting because apparently, she should do that too sometimes!
She’s a lover of wildly inappropriate humour, has an
addiction to swear words and bananas, lands her foot in her mouth daily… but she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Karen can be summed up with 5 words:
Friendly, loyal, thankful, funny and above all… Smutty!
Dahlia got caught up in my dangerous past a long time ago, but she rebuilt her
life. Now, I’m back because she’s the only person I can trust. And I couldn’t
stay away for another day.
Being near me means danger for the both of us because no one leaves the mob
unscathed. She’s inking over my past one day at a time and it’s strictly
business for her, but the flames licking at our heels aren’t just from the heat
But the only thing harder than leaving the mob is leaving her. I’ll show her
that what we have is forever as long as I’m still breathing…
~My Review for Under His Ink~
Under His Ink is the start of a new series- Under His- that is loosely tied in with the Mister Series. Dahlia is roommates with Rachal from Mr. Ruin. So we get to see Rachal and Dahlia’s side of how things went in that book.
This story has a mafia theme which I loved. Dahlia and Ivan have a bad history. Ivan had to leave Dahlia when it was the worse of timing. But to save her life that is what he had to do. Years later Dahlia is making a name for herself and is in the spotlight. Ivan knows that it is just a matter of time until his uncle will go after her again. So he decides it is time to put his plan to work. But will everyone get out alive?
These characters are beautifully written, and the story is heart-wrenching. I loved it. The ending is great and I feel for Alexei. I hope we get his story soon. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.
You can find her writing on her foldable keyboard and phone anytime inspiration strikes. Her sweet and steamy stories range from rockstars to small towns and everything in between. When she’s not writing, she’s playing with her three kids, running errands or vegging on the couch with the love of her life and biggest fan, her husband.

brands your soul”
course it is, that’s not the question. The question is should you?
different men. Her blind desire for revenge has left her deep in a world of consequences she couldn’t have foreseen. Her carefully woven plans begin to unravel as she learns of secrets and twisted little games that have the power to tear her world apart and destroy everything she’s ever loved.
~My Review For Twisted Little Games~
The first book blew me away, this last book kept me going to the very end. I LOVED these characters. All of them have their own problems, have a reason for what they are doing what they are doing. And they all love Tia, and Tia loves Logan and Atticus. BUT can love be enough? That is the question in this last book.
This second book has more mystery and intrigue. But it also brings us to the relationship of Tia, Logan, and Atticus. Where the first one gave us their story of past and now of how they got together. This book is how they just might be able to come together. There is no cheating in this book. Everyone knows everyone is having sex. Even when the men may not like that she is with the other. But because they love her so much, they understand that she needs her past and future. I loved that. I love that there is no push and pull.
This is a complicated love story with lots of different levels. But I couldn’t put it down. I will be reading more of Dee Palmer~

~My Review for Wicked Little Games~
The feelings that this story ignites is just overwhelming sometimes. Tia goes through so much that sometimes you have to wonder how the hell she does it. But then you really get into this book and you find that she has to, she has to keep going or the men in her life win or lose, all depend on how you look at it.
This book is told in multiple POV thank havens and it goes from the present to past with Tia and Atticus so that you find what has happened to both of them and why Tia is doing what she is doing. But like all good authors, it takes time for the build. In the meantime, we meet new characters like Ghost and Logan.
I love Logan and all his issues. He and Tia are great friends and they need each other when this book begins. When Atticus comes back into Tia’s life he is what keeps her going.
There is a lot of mystery, emotions, love, tears, and steam in this first book of the duet. I loved it!

~~My Review for Vlad~~
Jesus, I don’t even know where to go with this review. This is a darker book with some triggers, although some things you don’t know are happening until the end because the characters don’t even know that they are being taken advantage of until the end. There is a happy ending for some of the characters but not all, there is no cheating for some, but not all, there are gross and murderous parts.
Vlad is a dark, dangerous, murderous, psychotic, and somewhere in there loved man. He has to be all of these things to make sure his family stays on top of the world. There are people out there that want to take their place and will do anything including killing his family and him to do just that. So when he is tasked with marrying Diana he will do what he has to, to stay on top.
Iriana is Diana little sister. She has always been second and behind the scene. She doesn’t ruffle feathers and wants for nothing. She has wanted Vlad since she was little. But when she finds out her sister is to marry the man she wants it hurts her heart more than she can ever say.
Iriana is the light to Vlad’s dark. And in the end, Vlad will have a new saying
I have a new game.
And I make the rules.
It’s a game where she and I win.

About Ker Dukey
My books all tend to be darker romance, edge of you seat, angst filled reads. My advice to my readers when starting one of my titles…prepare for the unexpected.
I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters growing up.
My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light; some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling.
When I’m not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I’m a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.
This is a sexy, steamy, pretty much all sex story. If you are looking for an in-depth story with complex characters, this is not the story for you
This is an auction story where boy buys girls, then boy screws the crap out of girl nonstop.
Again sexy story. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

When all of this is done, she’s heading home to America, and I’ve got a company to run.
My first Mayan Vernon story and it was really sweet.
This is a gentle, get to know you, need a wife kind of book.
Conner and his brothers will lose their business if they don’t get married and stay married. But Conner has nobody he can really turn to, and it has to be as real as real can get.
Fallen is Conner’s brothers PA. She not only takes care of Jack but for the last 6 months has made sure Conner has done his job too. And over time they have become phone friends.

Like I said, this is a nice friend to lover slow romance novel. Good read. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.
