Title: Theirs to Protect: A Reverse Harem Romance
Series: The Marriage Lottery
Author: Stasia Black
Genre: Steamy Romance
Release Date: March 26, 2018
In a world where there’s only one woman for every twelve men, a lottery is the chance for five lucky men to win the prize of a lifetime… her hand in marriage.
Nix never put his name in the marriage lottery for a reason.
He doesn’t need a woman.
There aren’t that many to go around anyway, not after a genetically engineered virus wiped out 90% of the female population.
He has his job as the head of the Security Squadron and it’s all he needs. He looks out for the township. He protects the few women who are left.
But when his name is called to be one of the five husbands to the woman rescued from the badlands, he doesn’t speak up to correct the error.
Because Audrey’s like no one he’s ever met before.
That’s the word for her. She might be just the woman to handle a rough, brutal man like him.
Sharing her with four other men is a small price to pay.
In fact, the closer they all grow, the more Nix realizes he might finally have again what he lost so long ago—a real family.
But when Audrey’s life is endangered, will Nix be able to save the woman he’s just learned how to love?
For a limited time, enjoy included bonus content. Theirs to Protect is 300 pgs and ends around the 58% mark.
This is my first Stasia Black story and from the very first page, I was hooked. I love reverse harem stories but dystopian and apocalypse stories are a hit and miss for me usually. But this story is freaking awesome.

We meet Audrey and her brother trying to get to Nomansland where woman are supposed to be safe from men. In this world, there is barely any women around and the men have gone nuts. When Audrey and her brother are attacked by some men she runs and gets caught by Nix and his men.

Nix brings Audrey to the town he lives in. This is where they are keeping to as many traditions as possible. But one of the new ones they have is the lottery, one woman to every five men. They do this every time a woman is introduced into the town. This is so she is protected, and the human population can continue.

We have Nix, Mateo, Danny, Graham, and Clark each have their own past and each has their own problems. But they all want Audrey and all want to make sure she is loved and taken care of. But Audrey does not make it easy on any of them. And when she finds herself in the middle of something dark and scary in the town she is new to, she doesn’t know if she can trust the men she knows little about.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

Stasia was born in Georgia, grew up in Texas, recently spent
a freezing five-year stint in Minnesota, and now is happily planted in sunny California, which she will never, ever leave.
She loves writing, reading, listening to podcasts, and has recently taken up biking after a twenty-year sabbatical (and has the bumps and bruises to prove it). She lives with her own personal cheerleader, aka, her handsome husband, and their teenage son. Wow. Typing that makes her feel old. And writing about herself in the third person makes her feel a little like a nutjob, but ahem! Where were we?
Stasia’s drawn to romantic stories that don’t take the easy way out. She wants to see beneath people’s veneer and poke into their dark places, their twisted motives, and their deepest desires. Basically, she wants to create characters that make readers alternately laugh, cry ugly tears, want to toss their kindles across the room, and then declare they have a new FBB (forever book boyfriend).

Series: Masters of Manhattan by Jane Henry & Maisy Archer Includes- Knave 📖Review📖

Sabrina: Good guys save the day and criminals go to jail. It’s not rocket science, people.

But then my father’s killed, I’m rescued by a thief, and my worldview is shattered. He takes me to his penthouse. His bed. I don’t have to like it but I can’t help it. His touch is everything a good girl like me shouldn’t want.

Anson: Good and bad mean nothing to a master thief. I take what I want, and what I want is vengeance. No more, no less.

Maybe the girl can help, so I’ll hide her. Protect her. And if I have to manhandle her to keep her quiet, she’ll deal. Hell, she might even like it. But she’ll learn fast that I make the rules.

~My Review for Knave~

I loved this story. It has mystery, hot men, a strong independent woman, bad guys, and a little rough sex. I mean what more can you ask for?

Five men are asked to become something they never thought they could, brings you to the start of this book. In this book, we meet all five of them Ethan, Caelan, Xavier, Walker, and our main guy Anson. All of these guys have their own special talent that is needed to go forward with their mission, but none of them expected a woman to get in the way.

Sabrina’s father ends up being murdered in jail. While she is at her father’s office she finds herself locked in a closet and when someone finds her it ends up being Anson. These two are like oil and water. Nothing is right between them unless they are in the bedroom. It takes time for them to find a rhythm. But once they do, they are music.

This is a great story and I was happy to have read it for my honest review. I will say it does hang on a cliffhanger for the story, but not for the love story. I can’t wait to see where we go next.

“At the door,” I whispered.
“Standard electronic lock?” Walker confirmed.
“Yep. It’s so cute. I haven’t seen one of these since I was a kid.” I pulled a tiny, battery-powered device from my pocket and plugged it into the port at the bottom of the door handle. Most people never noticed that such a port even existed, to their detriment, but they’d been a thief’s wet dream back when they were popular. People had assumed that because a thing was electronic and highly technological, it was superior to a good, old-fashioned deadbolt. They’d been proven wrong so often that these models were hardly used anymore.
“I’m in,” I said, detaching the device and turning to close the door so it rested on the latch. “Laptop’s on the desk. It’s an older model, looks like. Just like you guessed.”
“Lord have mercy. Did he leave you a fruit basket and a bottle of wine?” Walker wanted to know. “An engraved invitation?”
I snorted softly. “Pretty much. The fucker.”
I looked around the office once, noting the details. The way the blinds were mostly closed, the arrangements of pillows on the sofas and papers on the desk. I wouldn’t disturb a single thing, not a molecule of dust if I could help it.
I removed a second device – this one just a super-charged thumb drive – from my other pocket, and slid it into a port on the computer. The drive would transmit a mirror image of the hard drive to Walker’s machine. “Drive’s in. Ready to boot it up.”
“Excellent.” I could hear Walker cracking his knuckles enthusiastically as he got ready to make magic at the keyboard. “Let Daddy take control, my precious.”
“Wow. Anyone else uncomfortable right now?” Ethan asked. “I mean, no shade but you and your computers have a really unique relationship, Walk.”
“I dunno,” Caelan defended. “I’m actually kind of aroused.”
I snorted softly as Caelan, Walker, and Ethan cracked up.
“Enough!” X snapped. “Jesus. I ran a multi-million-dollar company, and I took a leave of absence to become babysitter to a bunch of overgrown toddlers.”
“Parental leave,” Walker said solemnly. “You should look into that.”
I couldn’t see what happened next, sadly, but there was a scuffle on the other end of the comms, and a second later, Walker exclaimed, “Alright, alright! Jesus! No violence around my babies.”
“Is he holding out his arms to protect his monitors again?” I breathed.
“You know it,” Ethan agreed. “After Xavier slapped the back of his head.”
“Jesus. And I missed it?” Figured.
“It’s working,” Walker said, all professional now that the link was established. “I’m copying the directories. You’ve got… One hundred twenty-eight seconds until you’re free.”
This was the hardest part of any operation – the waiting.
Careful not to touch the desk chair or even move a paperclip, I surveyed the papers on his desk. Nothing of any interest, as far as I could tell. Certainly nothing that said “Re: Your Friend’s Criminal Activities.”
My eyes skimmed to the bookcase behind the desk. There were pictures of his wedding to Emma – which seemed to be within the last few years. A picture of him with another woman – two decades ago, judging by the fashions – was perched on a lower shelf. Probably the first wife.
There was a cardboard box on the floor by the bookcase, filled with a jumble of papers and mugs. They looked like someone’s personal effects – the kind the recently-fired guy always carried out with him when he made his walk of shame – and I wondered what the hell Pederson was doing with them… And then I looked more closely at the picture frame on the top of the box.
It was a picture of a little girl sitting on an older guy’s lap in the captain’s chair of a boat. They were both smiling at the camera like they’d been caught in the middle of laughter. The sun glinted off the shining wood of the boat’s wheel behind them and the little white-capped waves of the ocean beyond. The girl’s hair was flaming red- almost orange.
Sabrina. This was the picture she’d been talking about earlier.
I carefully moved the frame aside to peer at the next layer and found exactly what I’d expected: a wood and brass name-plate, the kind that sat on fancy folks’ desks, bearing the name Stuart Fowler.
These were her father’s personal effects, I realized. Why the hell had they been given to Pederson, even if they were friends, during an office cleanout, when clearly they should have been sent directly to Sabrina? I could imagine Pederson wanted to hand-deliver them later, the lecherous asshole.
“We’re clear.” Walker’s voice in my ear brought me back to exactly where I was. “I’m out of the system. Just remove the drive, shut it down, and it will be as though we were never here.” He whistled a few notes of the X-files theme song.
I was a little horrified that I recognized the X-files theme song, but then again I’d been living with this computer geek twenty-four-seven for half a year now.
I pulled the drive from the system and shut it down, then shut the laptop.
“Job well done, boys,” I whispered as I walked across the room.
I paused by the sofa and looked back at the picture frame. Something about it was calling to me. I knew Sabrina wanted it, and I wanted to give it to her.
Stupid, stupid, stupid. You didn’t last long in this line of work if you were a magpie, distracted by every shiny thing. You came in to get what you were contracted to get – or what you thought you could reasonably fence. You never took personal shit if you could help it. Get in, get out, move on.
But I remembered her eyes this morning when she’d talked about her dad, about wondering if it was still okay for her to remember him as a decent person even though he’d done shitty things. Back when that picture was taken, he’d been her hero. It was clear on her face. And I wanted to give her back just a tiny bit of that.
Even if it wasn’t for me to do.
I hesitated half a second too long.
“Is that you, Mr. Peder-. Hey!” Gwendolyn walked in, hands on her hips and eyes narrowed on me. “What are you doing in here, Sonny?”
Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck.
You’d think that I’d have been good at making shit up, given that getting caught was always a possibility in my line of work. But I wasn’t. God’s honest truth, I’d never been caught before.
“Anson?” X’s voice was in my ear, quiet and controlled. “What’s going on?”
“I’m, uh, I’m so sorry!” I told her, all affable smile, hands spread wide. “It’s just, the door was open, and…well…”
“Oh, Sonny, baby!” Sabrina’s cheerful voice called from the hallway. “Are you ready?”
Ready? Jesus, no!
I was not a praying man, but I prayed right then that Sabrina was not doing anything as foolish as walking into this room right now.
But apparently sinners don’t have a lot of capital to burn with the man upstairs, because Sabrina walked in, right then and there.
And she was buck-fucking-naked from the waist up.
For a second, all I could do was stare. I mean, this woman was hotter by far than Emma Pederson could ever hope to be, even if she did her fucking yoga from dawn til’ dusk. The body that I hadn’t really had a chance to appreciate the night before was on display for me – all pale skin, dusted with golden freckles, smooth stomach and rounded limbs, and perfect lush breasts topped with light pink nipples – and my cock had zero respect for the complete inopportunity of this timing as it stirred in my jeans.
Sabrina gasped and grabbed her shirt, holding it up to cover her chest and staring wide-eyed at Gwendolyn. “Oh, my God,” she wailed. “Oh, my God!”
“Sa-breee-na!” Gwendolyn was clearly scandalized. “What on earth? Why are you naked?”
“Sabrina’s naked?” Walker demanded in my ear. “From now on, we use cameras on ops! I mean… Hey, ow!” It sounded like Xavier had hit him again, and for once I gave thanks for our fearless leader’s high-handedness.

Series: Silhouette Studios by Katana Collins Includes- Callback 📖Review📖

Title: Callback
Series: Silhouette Studios #1
Author: Katana Collins
Genre: Romance/BDSM
Release Date: April 3, 2018
Audio Narrator: Joe Arden

Everyone has their limits. Mine? It’s one that should have never been crossed. Now thanks to my ex-boyfriend, all of Hollywood thinks I trade sex for roles. You can imagine how my auditions go these days. This town has enough real scandals without him adding fake ones to the mix. But I have a plan. And it was going so well… until Jude Fisher came along.

When my ex-wife sold the footage of herself cheating on me with another man, I was done. With scandal, with her, with all the fakeness this industry thrives on. Finding her as the only actress up for co-lead in my new BDSM movie was the last thing I needed. Then Marlena Taylor auditioned, and I found everything I need. A gifted actress, a natural submissive… and a woman I can’t resist.

All she’s missing is knowledge about the lifestyle–my lifestyle.

I’m more than happy to tutor her–to show her the ropes, if you will. I’ll teach her everything about the games. The toys. The dynamic.

I’ll teach her everything but the sex. That’s my hard limit.

But we’re quickly finding out that there’s no limit to what’s between us.

What a great story! Callback brings two unlikely people together for a movie about BDSM. But when the scarlet that is the front-runner for the lead doesn’t really know what she is getting into, the leading man decides to help her out.

This book is such a well-written story that I couldn’t put it down. I loved the chats and the storyline. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

I swallowed, my stomach tight and crossed my legs to relieve the ache at the apex of my thighs. Then, I placed the other half of the caramel in my mouth, sucking the melted chocolate from my thumb, rolling my tongue over the tip of my finger, imagining it was the tip of Jude’s cock. As the caramel dripped down my throat, thick and creamy, my mind exploded with imagery of Jude and caramel drizzled on various parts of his body.A moan escaped from somewhere low in my throat. The guttural sound unlike any noise I’d heard myself make in the past and my eyes shot open. Did anyone hear that? My face burned and I scanned the room, looking for anyone who might be watching me; laughing at me. No one looked my direction.

Most bodies were still writhing on the dance floor. Or at the bar ordering. Omar was just to the side of the dance floor, facing the opposite wall talking on his phone.

What is wrong with me? This was a chocolate covered caramel for God’s sake. Not a vibrator. Not porn. Not a sexy romance novel…. One single piece of candy and I was so damned hot, I was considering rushing home to have a little quality time with my battery-operated boyfriend.

My gaze settled back onto the nearly full box of caramels beside the peonies. I wanted another. Wanted more of what I’d just had. But Jude had specifically said only one more for tonight. Heat curled around my spine and I clutched my hands together. If I was a submissive, following this rule would be part of what made it sexy. And if I was being completely honest with myself, it was sexy.

Knowing he was at home, turned on, thinking about me. And knowing I made him happy. The disease to please, my dad called it. But no, it was more than just that. Maybe it was the delayed gratification Jude had mentioned. The fact that this was the only chocolate I was having tonight and so I anticipated it. Waited for it, longing for it. Nervous for it. And it made the caramel so, so much better. Jude’s pleasure was only part of that.

Dipping my hand into my bag, I pulled out Jude’s business card, running my finger along the cornered edge of the paper. Then, grabbing my phone, I punched in his number, texting him.

I’ll see you tomorrow at Daisy’s. My mind was made up. Whatever that was I had just experienced? I wanted more of it. Needed more of it. For research, yes. But also for myself. That intense moment of pleasure was unlike anything I’d had before. My phone buzzed in my palm.

So, it was good then?

Good didn’t even cover it. I swallowed, my thumbs tapping the keys. It was the best salted caramel of my life. How was yours?

If I closed my eyes, I could almost hear his low rumbled chuckle. Could almost smell his earthy, spicy scent.

I loved every second of it. And I love it even more knowing you enjoyed the experiment, too.

The experiment. Was that all I was? Some sort of twisted BDSM Pygmalion?

It didn’t matter. The point was, I wanted this part. And it was clear I had a lot to learn about this lifestyle—about Jude’s lifestyle—despite the hours I’d spent Googling and on FetLife. Three little dots appeared above Jude’s name. He was typing more.

You did a great job tonight. Have fun, be sure to drink some water and take a Tylenol before bed.

“I was wondering what was taking so long.” Omar’s voice boomed above me and I jumped, startled, clutching the phone tighter. He laughed. “I should have guessed you dug back into those caramels. I’ll go get us the next round.”

He turned toward the bar.

“And a water,” I blurted out, my eyes falling to Jude’s text. “Please.”

“Water and a bourbon coming up,” Omar said, walking away.

I sighed, leaning back and slid the phone into my purse. If I was going to try this submissive thing for a week, I was going all in. Except for sex. Which, based on how turned on I got from one damned chocolate, might be harder than I thought.

When Katana Collins was younger and stole her mother’s Harlequins to read beneath the covers with a flashlight, she wanted to read about the tough as nails heroine. The perfectly imperfect girl with quirks and attitude and sass. And the anti-heroes who were anything but “Prince Charming.” Forget the knight on a white horse… she wanted the bad boy on a motorcycle.
So, now, she writes those romance novels she craved to see on the shelves all those years ago—the sassy heroines. The badass heroes. Since penning her first romance novel back in 2012, she is now an international author with 15 published books and counting.

She lives in Portland, Maine, with an ever-growing brood of rescue animals: a kind of mean cat, a really doofy lab, a very mellow chihuahua, and a very not mellow cairn terrier puppy… oh yeah, there’s a husband somewhere in that mix, too. She can usually be found hunched over her laptop in a cafe, guzzling gallons of coffee, and wearing fabulous (albeit sometimes impractical) shoes.

Series: Badlands by Natalie Bennett Includes- Savages 📖Review📖, Deviants, & Outcasts (Pre-Order)

Title: Outcasts
Series: Badlands #3
Author: Natalie Bennett
Genre: Dark Erotic Thriller

Release Date: May 12, 2018

Dark Messiah.
Harbinger of death.
My reputation has always preceded me.
I’m a brother to the queen of the Badlands.
I’m one of the few confidants to her fiancé–the devil himself.
And those whispered rumors that I’m a silent killer, a true harvester of souls?
They’re true.
People never see me coming. I don’t discriminate, I show no mercy, and I feel no remorse.
My only loyalty is to my family and when someone important to them goes missing, I vow to do whatever is necessary to track her down and bring her back.
But the person I find is not the same woman who was stolen away.
Something’s different about her.
Something I find myself drawn to as we fight our way back to hell.

Original family disappointment.
My reputation has never preceded me.
I’m supposed to be this spoiled, rich b*tch who does everything her daddy tells her.
I was forbidden to even think about the Badlands.
But money means nothin to me and my paradise was a pretty cage I refused to be trapped in.
I fought my way out, I found a new family, and even though sh*t got tough sometimes it all worked out in the end.
And then I got kidnapped.
I thought it was over for me.
I almost broke.
I should have known he would never let that happen.
And I should have realized something inside me had shifted.
Maybe then I’d have seen the signs that I was falling for an irredeemable man.
A man who taught me that there was power in taking away a life.
A man who showed me just how beautiful hell truly was.
It’s only fair I warn you that this is not a story about a rescued damsel in distress.
This is a story about what happens when a man who collects souls finally meets his match.

*Outcasts is the 3rd book in the Badlands series. This book can be read as a standalone but I recommend starting Savages & Deviants first.*

Another story I have no idea where to go with my review.

This is my first Natalie Bennett book, so I really had no idea what I was getting into. I read the blurb and thought I had an idea of what I was getting into. Nope.

This story is raw, nasty, gritty, messed up and so freaking awesome that I was upset when it was over. Savages is a story, unlike anything I have read. This is not a story about two people falling in love and having a hard time. Hell, I don’t think anyone in this story has any idea what the word love is. These two characters Romero and Calista are so f*cked up that you have to adore them. I will admit at some point this story scared me a little, but then brought me around again. I can not wait to see where these characters go from here.

The author does say there are triggers. And man is there! Don’t read this story without an open mind.

Natalie Bennett is the creator of erotic stories that always come with a warning label. She writes about depraved alpha a**holes and women that love to hate them. Her books don’t follow any specific tropes, have no set word counts, and tend to deviate from traditional HEA’s.

When she isn’t in front of her computer she’s spending time with her husband and their three little boys.

Natalie is an avid fan of caramel frappes, horror movies, Shameless, and of course, reading.

Warning: this book will contain triggers and is intended for a mature audience 18+

The conclusion to Tony and Rosie’s story is beautifully written. We got Rosie’s story in the first book and now we are getting Tony’s. This is a couple that nobody should mess with. And Rosie is a woman to be reckoned with. This is a great story and ending to these two. I am excited to see where the spin-off goes. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

This was violent, bloody, romantic and EXCELLENT!!!!Lorrie, Goodreads Reviewer

I loved seeing such a merciless couple in such a delicious way. I absolutely could not put it down.Renee, Goodreads Review

What a deeply darkly decadent blood thirsty duo!Gaynor Jones, Goodreads Review

I loved Rosalina Maria. She was trained to be the boss when her dad passed away and she does that. She doesn’t take crap from anyone and that is the way she was trained. But when her father and mother are killed in an accident she is brought home to take over. What she doesn’t expect or is trained for is to be told that nobody will work with her because she is a female. So when Anthony shows up to “help” her, she doesn’t take too kindly to it.Anthony is sent to “help” but he never thought he was to work with Rosalina. So when these two meet the chemistry is off the hook. I loved it.

This is a very enjoyable story.

This isn’t a love story. This is a story about redemption. She was lost and then she was taken. He found her twice. But will she ever be truly free again? How can you ever be whole after your entire world was ripped apart? How will they both survive the nightmare when they realize it’s not over? She loved him and he loved her. But it wasn’t that simple.

Triggers (for both part 1 and part 2): Rape, Violence, Assault, Mental/Emotional Abuse, Death, PTSD triggers
PROLOGUEThe moon hit that perfect point in the sky where its light trickled down and flooded the balcony, shining a beam of light into the bedroom. I peeled myself out from under Derrick’s arms, feeling the same drop in my stomach I felt every time he wasn’t touching me. I was a woman obsessed. I was also terrified of being separated from him again.

When he held me, I didn’t have nightmares. When his hands caressed me, the panic attacks ceased. With Derrick, I was able to forget what happened. I ached with the guilt of not telling him any parts of the ordeal. I knew it was killing him.

But I loved the way he looked at me now, like I was the key to his entire world. If I told him what Jason did to me, the things I’d done during the course of being held prisoner, that look would go away.

I couldn’t risk that.

I stepped onto the balcony, bathing in the moonlight. It was warm and there was a gentle breeze moving the clouds around. We moved to a new wing of the house and it was quieter here. The pool and pool house were right underneath us and I’d been dying to get back into it. Now that my ankle was fully healed, it seemed like a good idea.

There was no point in getting changed. No one ever swam in the pool anymore. I tiptoed down the stairs and padded across the grass to the stone slabs surrounding the sapphire tinted water. I let my nightgown fall off my shoulders and stepped gently down the stairs, wading out to waist level.

Spreading my arms out, I tilted my chin up, gazing at the stars as I fell back into the warm water. The temperature was perfect. I floated on my back, loving the weightless feeling it offered me.

God, how I needed to feel weightless. I didn’t allow myself to feel that way since coming home. There was too much blood on my hands, too many unanswered questions, too much left unsaid for me to spread that around for others to carry.

No, I would shoulder the weight of everything. It had to be this way.

I dove beneath the water, swimming a few laps before floating on my back. It helped soothe my grieving soul. My eyes burned from opening them underneath the water, so I stood in the shallow end rubbing them. Footsteps sounded on the stone behind.

Glancing over my naked shoulder, black boots stood at the edge of the pool near the deeper end. A smile tugged on my lips, assuming it was Derrick coming to join me. But I realized the body was different.

I began to tremble, my smile fading from my face.I recognized the all black outfit, complete with black gloves.

I opened my mouth to scream, but the man held a finger up to his lips, silencing me. Tears blurred my vision. I blinked at them, sending them splashing into the water surrounding me.

He found me.

He came back for me.

I wasn’t going to survive this time.

“Alina?” a voice called out.

Derrick walked out onto the balcony. He hadn’t come to the edge yet, so he couldn’t see me down in the pool. I swallowed, unable to form words from the sheer terror of what would happen next.

When I glanced back down, he was gone.

That was my warning.

He was never going to let me escape anyway.

He was coming back for what he owned.

K.S. Marshall is West Coast girl with a heart for Texas, who found herself calling Pittsburgh, PA her home. Having grown up with an avid romance reader for mother, the pull toward the genre was automatic. She enjoys writing complex stories with dark elements that keep her readers on the edge of their seats. Life and love are both complicated and messy and, true to reality, her characters are authentically flawed.

When she’s not reading or writing another plot twist, you can find her having impromptu dance parties, eating her weight in tacos, and doing fitness stuff with her friends. She’s absolutely crazy over her children and her fur-babies, Luna and Weston. And that Sean guy is pretty cool too.

The minute Murphy Larussa stepped foot in New Orleans, her life changed forever.

Murphy was meant to remain in the shadows, hidden from prying eyes, like any good bastard.

She finds herself hunted by a dangerous family for a debt she has no knowledge of.

Everyone wants her gone, but they underestimate her. She refuses to allow them to push her back into obscurity. From now on, everyone will know her name because she is here to stay and claim what is rightfully hers.

There will be a war, one Murphy is hell bent on winning!

Sent on a hunt for a person who owes his family, Zander will not stop until he has his man.

How was he to know who he would find?

Murphy Larussa is not what any of them saw coming.

So unexpected, she’s the only woman to ever bring the great Zander Stern to his knees.

Now he will do anything to protect her, even if that means protecting her from his own family.

Everyone wants a war.

He will give them one, but this is a war he plans on winning!

I was so excited to finally read Zanders story. And man what a story it was.

Zander is the fun-loving one in the family. From the very first book, he said that he would be honored if Catherine would find him a wife. But we all knew that it wasn’t something that he was waiting on. He went about his life working and womanizing like always. But when he is tasked to find a Murphy Jr he is stumped. Everywhere he looks he can’t find him. But he does find a beautiful redhead that he can’t get out of his head.

Murphy ends up being a chick. Murphy is a no-nonsense woman that doesn’t take crap from anyone and that includes Zander and the Stern family. She ends up pissing a lot of people off when she takes over her dads casino, and even when Catherine gives her an out, marry Zander and keep some control of her casino. What will Murphy do?

I loved this book. Murphy kicked butt and Zander falls in love. Catherine finally has to come to some terms with her past. And we learn some more about what she will do to protect her family. And we all know she will do anything for that. The ending is explosive. I can’t wait to see what is next. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

Once Zander leaves, I hug myself, knowing I’m the one becoming stupid when it comes to him. I just have to be careful not to let it show. I feel everything he says that he does when we kiss. It’s a draw I have never felt, something I didn’t think existed. A spark that stays burning long after we’ve separated. It’s a spark that I can’t help wanting more of.
Kyle sneaks up on me and begins questioning. “Are you realizing how much you want him?”
            “What? No! Leave me alone!”
Kyle jumps with glee. “You are! Oh my God, Murphy you like him. Like, really like.”
“Shut up, Kyle, get out of my way!”
I march right past him, slamming my bedroom door. Oh God, I do like him, probably more than any other man I’ve ever met. What does that say about me? I know, that I’m glutton for punishment. How can I possibly find him, the man who belongs to the family that is holding my life in their hands more attractive, more interesting and more annoying than any other decent guy out there? Maybe because I never truly met a decent guy, and for some reason I think Zander is decent. And the way he makes me feel. I can still feel his hands on me, gently cleaning my injuries.
I can maybe deny him during the day but when I sleep there is no denying in my dreams. Every night since we’ve met, I can see and feel his touch, the way it felt to be in his arms or the way he controlled my body. The orgasms that he gave me, nothing has ever come close to that.
Shit, what am I thinking? I can’t have these feelings. He is nothing to me, or at least that’s what I need to keep telling myself. I will not be like my mother and fall for the wrong man, or any man. So, I’m in like with him, but it’s not love. Love doesn’t truly exist; not for me, it doesn’t.
I’m startled from my thoughts as Kyle barges into the room. “I wasn’t finished with you yet, Murph.”
“Oh yes, you are. I don’t want to talk about Mr. Zander Stern again.”
“Mr. Zander Stern, that’s what we’re calling him now? So professional. Is that a way for you to feel less comfortable with him?”
“What the hell are you talking about now?”
“I’m talking about how that man is sweet on you and you keep pushing him away like you always do. Except this time, I see something different.”
“Really? Do tell, I know you’re dying to.”
“Oh I will. I see the smoldering heat that comes off you two when you’re around each other. I see the desire in your eyes for him.”
“You’re full of shit, Kyle. It’s almost laughable.”
“Except that neither one of us is laughing. Why do this to yourself, Murphy?”
            “Do what, Kyle?”
“Why do you try so hard to keep people at bay? Why are you so determined not to let anyone in, especially men? That man cares for you so much that he has his mother waiting to collect from you, and you still push him away.”
I can’t answer, I have no answer for him other than I refuse to be used or hurt. I hang my head, not from shame, but for the time to build my defenses back up. Kyle’s right about me; over the years I let him in, I let him close enough to me that he recognizes my faults, but he has no right to throw them back in my face.
He refuses to stop. “Listen, Murphy, be smart. Even if you don’t want to admit how much Zander gets to you, you should still consider his mother’s offer. I heard everything. I know his mother wants you to marry him. I think you should do it. He can protect you, and you can keep a percentage of the casino. It’s a win-win.”
I’m done, that did it. “What the hell are you talking about? You want me to be forced to marry a man I don’t love to keep a small percentage of a casino I already own? You want me to be tied down to a man who is dangerous, not to mention a womanizer, to just piss away everything that’s mine by right? If that is my choice, I choose to just leave, go back home, let the Sterns have it all, just forget it ever existed. But I’m not. I will find a way to pay them back and keep what is mine without having to sacrifice the rest of my life.”
Kyle’s shaking his head in defeat. “Fine, Murph, do what you have to do, but honey, if you can’t pay them, you will lose everything, including Zander, and you won’t believe me now, but that will hurt more than losing the casino.”
I continue to watch in shock as he disappears into his bedroom. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I don’t care about Zander, and he definitely isn’t mine, so how could it hurt worse than losing my casino?
Written by Monique Orgeron’s eldest, most beautiful, and intelligent daughter. (My sister is going to hate this part.)

My mom happens to be the most caring, loving, and stubborn person I know, well anyone knows. She gives 100% percent of herself to everyone and has given up so much of herself for my sister and I. For twenty-one years she has poured her heart and soul into making sure we know that we are loved and that we can do anything we put our minds too, but it was about time she figured that out about herself.

Up until this year I hadn’t seen my mom do anything for only her, but this book has allowed her to travel the world through the pages of a book, make new friends, and feel the joy of doing something exciting.

There is a new light behind her eyes and it is just making me feel more joy than she can ever imagine. While she might be annoying most of the time, I am so thrilled that she is finally allowing herself to grow as a person and not spend all of her energy on her family.

It has been a long journey of self-discovery for my mom; she has gone from domestic supermom to domestic goddess throughout the process of writing.

We are so very excited and proud of you! I love you as big as the world.
