Title: Theirs to Protect: A Reverse Harem Romance
Series: The Marriage Lottery
Author: Stasia Black
Genre: Steamy Romance
Release Date: March 26, 2018
In a world where there’s only one woman for every twelve men, a lottery is the chance for five lucky men to win the prize of a lifetime… her hand in marriage.
Nix never put his name in the marriage lottery for a reason.
He doesn’t need a woman.
There aren’t that many to go around anyway, not after a genetically engineered virus wiped out 90% of the female population.
He has his job as the head of the Security Squadron and it’s all he needs. He looks out for the township. He protects the few women who are left.
But when his name is called to be one of the five husbands to the woman rescued from the badlands, he doesn’t speak up to correct the error.
Because Audrey’s like no one he’s ever met before.
That’s the word for her. She might be just the woman to handle a rough, brutal man like him.
Sharing her with four other men is a small price to pay.
In fact, the closer they all grow, the more Nix realizes he might finally have again what he lost so long ago—a real family.
But when Audrey’s life is endangered, will Nix be able to save the woman he’s just learned how to love?
For a limited time, enjoy included bonus content. Theirs to Protect is 300 pgs and ends around the 58% mark.
This is my first Stasia Black story and from the very first page, I was hooked. I love reverse harem stories but dystopian and apocalypse stories are a hit and miss for me usually. But this story is freaking awesome.

We meet Audrey and her brother trying to get to Nomansland where woman are supposed to be safe from men. In this world, there is barely any women around and the men have gone nuts. When Audrey and her brother are attacked by some men she runs and gets caught by Nix and his men.

Nix brings Audrey to the town he lives in. This is where they are keeping to as many traditions as possible. But one of the new ones they have is the lottery, one woman to every five men. They do this every time a woman is introduced into the town. This is so she is protected, and the human population can continue.

We have Nix, Mateo, Danny, Graham, and Clark each have their own past and each has their own problems. But they all want Audrey and all want to make sure she is loved and taken care of. But Audrey does not make it easy on any of them. And when she finds herself in the middle of something dark and scary in the town she is new to, she doesn’t know if she can trust the men she knows little about.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

Stasia was born in Georgia, grew up in Texas, recently spent
a freezing five-year stint in Minnesota, and now is happily planted in sunny California, which she will never, ever leave.
She loves writing, reading, listening to podcasts, and has recently taken up biking after a twenty-year sabbatical (and has the bumps and bruises to prove it). She lives with her own personal cheerleader, aka, her handsome husband, and their teenage son. Wow. Typing that makes her feel old. And writing about herself in the third person makes her feel a little like a nutjob, but ahem! Where were we?
Stasia’s drawn to romantic stories that don’t take the easy way out. She wants to see beneath people’s veneer and poke into their dark places, their twisted motives, and their deepest desires. Basically, she wants to create characters that make readers alternately laugh, cry ugly tears, want to toss their kindles across the room, and then declare they have a new FBB (forever book boyfriend).

Now the Lords of Jo’Lyn wonder if they haven’t made a mistake. Syrene is as defiant of them as she was of the village she believes rejected her. She swears she will not give herself to even one Drakoryan lord, let alone three.

🐉My Review for Night of the Drakoryans🐉

This is my first Drakoryans book by Ava Sinclair that I have read and I loved it.

Syrene is the sacrifice for the dragons this time. She has been so mistreated at home that it is sad. She is looking forward to being the sacrifice. She is hoping to die. So when she finds herself alive in a castle, she is extremely mad.

As for Edrys, Nyron, and Xars they are the dragon kings. When it is time, the dragons go down and pick out their queens. It was their time. Syrene has to be their queen or they will never live out their life happily. But man is she giving them a run for their money. Each of these men is different and wonderful. But they have to work to find what will make their girl become theirs. I loved that part.

This was a great story and I can’t wait to read the others and more. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

He takes me to a balcony. I clutch the cape around my shoulders, for the air is chill. It is pitch dark.
“I thought you said we could see the moon from here.”
“And so you will.” He points to some clouds, smoky black against the indigo blue of the sky. They drift along, changing shape as they go. Then the shimmering moon emerges, brightening the sky.
I am amazed by the intensity of the glow. “How could something so bright hide itself?”
“Sometimes a shadow can be so heavy that we forget the brilliance behind it.” He looks down at me and the flutter I felt earlier returns. I know he is not talking about the moon now. “The best things are often hidden, Syrene of Arkney.” He reaches for my elbow and I tense as he pivots me towards him. “Will you not allow me to show you some of what your old life kept hidden? You are strong. You are smart. These are things I already sense. You are far better than the people you left behind. I think, down deep, you know this. I think you have always known this…”
“I know nothing.” I drop my eyes. Compliments are harder to accept than gifts. But the man before me persists.
“I do not believe that, Syrene. I believe you have grown comfortable with one way of being. You have allowed anger to carve a path into your soul, and you traverse that path in an endless loop. Let me guide you out of it. Let me help you carve other paths to wonder, paths to pleasure. Do you not see that these things are your birthright?”
No one has ever spoken to me like this. No one has ever told me I deserve anything other than misery and scorn. But this man, this powerful lord who, along with his brothers, commands dragons, is telling me that happiness is my destiny, that I am worthy of all the things I believed I would never have.
“I can’t,” I begin, but he puts a finger to my lips. “You can.” He smiles, and my heart lurches. No man in my village had such a handsome face. He pauses. “Syrene. Let me show you but a taste of what’s been hidden from you. I will not persist beyond what you allow.”
He moves his hand from my lip to the front of my cape, parting the fabric. The chill of the night moves through my gown, hardening my nipples to aching, up-thrust peaks. Then Lord Edrys brushes one through the fabric, his hand warm against the tight little nub. The contact makes it throb, and a tiny whimper of hidden need escapes from between my parted lips.
His large hand cups my breast now, squeezing firmly, and the throb I felt shifts lower, to between my thighs, like an itch, only different. It’s more like an ache that wants for something…contact, perhaps pressure. I am frustrated. I do not know what it is my body asks for as his other hand moves to the slight flare of my belly and then lower. The swelling ache in my core intensifies as his fingers descend, and when his hand reaches the top of the soft mound of my womanhood, feel a tiny ripple in my core. I cry out and leap away, pulling my cape around me.
“What was that?” I demand to know. I can still feel the residual quivering, as if his touch is still there. “What is it you do to me?”
“That,” Lord Edrys says, “is a woman’s pleasure. Did no one ever speak to you of such things?”

Variety is the spice of life and Ava Sinclair writes a little something for everyone, from dark romance to menage to kinky AF age play. But the one thing that is consistent in her books are strong storylines, alpha males, and strong women whose hearts and bodies aren’t given up without a fight.
Ava lives in southern Virginia, where she enjoys hoarding books, hiking, running, spoiling her cats, and spending time with her Eurasian eagle owl, Lucius.

REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Take the warnings to heart, this is not your normal fairytale! If you read the first story by Zoe and Alta “Snow and the Seven Huntsman” you know they love their fairytales dirty. Well, this one is no different. I loved this one. All the wolves are different and are in need of Red for their own reasons. It has been centuries since they have had a woman and they act like it. I don’t know if I should have felt sorry for her or jealous at some points while reading this story. This is a great addition to this series. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

This is NOT your typical fairytale. I have read some other authors who have dipped into the fairytale realm and it has been a hit and miss. But Zoe and Alta have gone to the extreme with Snow and her huntsmen. I mean you have to know that one woman and 7 men are bound to be kinky and hot. but this was dirty. 🙂
Each huntsman has its own kink and needs that Snow has to meet. She doesn’t get a choice in the matter (almost to the point of rape) so if you have a trigger on that, you might want to watch it. The Huntsman use her stepmother as a way to keep her compliant. If you want to live you will do as I say kind of thing.
But eventually, the wicked step-mother does show up. Then what will happen to everyone’s happy ever after?
This is a hot, steamy, reverse harem fairytale that I loved! I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.

We are all attracted to the forbidden. Addicted to the rush we get from reading something naughty…something kinky. We love to lose ourselves in the fantasy. The powerful lord who sweeps the lady away to his remote estate to ravish her. The cowboy who takes the sassy city girl over his knee to teach her a lesson. The devilishly charming pirate who seduces his beautiful captive.
She writes those dark fantasies.
