He was forbidden, my boss and incapable of loving me.

People talked about him, whispered about him in passing.

He was the king of his town.

And I was a visitor.

I was by no means a smart girl. Never loved with my head, always with my heart.

That fact alone almost killed me once.

I should have listened the second time around.

But the king of this small town, had me starving. Had me craving his taste.

My name is Kandi, and he called me his Kandiland.

The king declared I was his medicine, and with each dose, he became better and better.

He was the perfect liar.

And I was his perfect Kandi.

Together, we were explosive, and toxic in every way.

He was a drug I couldn’t kick. I’d overdosed on him before. It didn’t turn out well.
I was stupid enough to let him crack my heart, in hopes we would fall off the same cliff together.
No matter how much my idiotic heart wanted to love him, my head knew better.
He didn’t choose me.
He chose her.
That’s where the problem started.
Maybe that’s how it should end.

 REVIEW⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the last book in the duet of Dark Intentions by T.L. Smith. And we start where we left off with Saskia/Barbie handed off to the MC club. Ryken is trying to find her and Livia is being her crazy a$$ self.

The first book is crazy good, we get the backstory of the three and how everyone falls in love with each other and how they get where they are for this book. This story is how Ryken becomes a man. He blows through everyone and everything to get to the woman he loves. The problem is who does he love? Is it Saskia or Livia?

Saskia had found her place in the world when she was taken out of it in the last book. Now she is in hell. But she is so strong and she knows even if Ryken has chosen her cousin he will find a way to save her. But will it be to late?

This was a great conclusion to this story. I loved it and was happy to have read it for my honest review.

 REVIEW

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What can’t T.L Smith write? This is a story of two people that want to love each other but there is no way for them too.

It starts out with them seeing each other after years of hurt, pain, and selfishness has become the norm for them. Then T.L brings us to the past.
Sass (Barbie) is a poorer child that is at a rich school on a scholarship. She goes to school with her cousin (rich snob kind of girl) Livia and a couple friends. Sass isn’t big on boys or parties. She wants out of the town they are living in and school is the answer.
Ryken is in school until he can take over for his father. Daddy owns all the strip clubs in town and is the man of the underground (although it is the unknown secret in town). Nobody messes with Ryken’s family or people start coming up missing. But when he starts paying attention to Barbie he knows he is asking for trouble.
Sass and Ryken are a couple that can never be but is destined to hurt each other always. Ryken and Livia are the couple to go forward and hurt everyone else and still fall into bed together with no remorse.

This is the first book of the duet. I am at a loss at how to characterize what I felt when I finished this book. Ryken is such a sh*t for what he does to Sass at the end. And who knows what Livia is up to now. Sass finally has a backbone and is now being sent away, but who knows if she will break again. Love is not always enough. We will see if it is in the next book! I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy for my honest review.
